ASTM A106 covers three seamless carbon steel grades for high-temperature service. Selection is driven by mechanical strength and cold-forming requirements:

ASTM A106 seamless pipe is manufactured from solid steel billets through a hot-working and hot-finishing process:
Core Process: Billet Heating → Rotary Piercing→ Rolling→Elongation → Sizing.
Heat treatment is controlled according to the applicable grade, pipe size, and product requirements. After forming and heat treatment, the pipe is straightened, cut, and finished to the specified end configuration.
Final inspection verifies dimensions, mechanical properties, pressure integrity, and required nondestructive testing. Heat number traceability and material documentation are maintained for the finished pipe.
ASTM A106 seamless pipe is supplied according to the applicable requirements of ASTM A106, covering the specified grade, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, heat treatment, and testing requirements.
