DIN is the German standardization body for piping systems and equipment. Pipes of the DIN 2448 standard are manufactured in accordance with all standards including ASME, ASTM, AISI, DIN, EN, GB, IS, and JIS. Pipes and tubing of this standard can be seamless, welded, machined, ERW, EFW, U-bends, hollow, etc.
The DIN 2448 standard specifies the manufacturing specifications for these pipes and tubing, including dimensions, standard mass per unit length, fittings, and weight. DIN 2448 pipes possess excellent strength and mechanical properties, and exhibit high resistance to reducing acids and various types of corrosion.

Applicable to seamless steel pipe conforming to the technical conditions specified in DIN 1629 (Parts 1-4), DIN 17172, and DIN 17175.
It specifies the outer diameter, wall thickness, and mass per unit length of the steel pipe, aiming to promote standardized selection of pipe diameter.
Not applicable to precision tube (precision tubes are applicable to steel tubes conforming to DIN 2391).
DIN 2448 standard mainly specifies the dimensions and mass per unit length of steel tubes. Specific materials require reference to other relevant standards, such as:
St 37 (Ordinary carbon structural steel, similar to Chinese Q235),
St 44 (Strength slightly higher than St37),
St 52 (High-strength low-alloy steel, similar to Chinese Q345).
St35.8, St45.8 (Steel for boiler tubes and high-temperature, high-pressure pipelines).
Q195, Q215, Q235, Q345 (Materials corresponding to Chinese standards), 20G (Seamless steel tube material for Chinese boiler tubes).

General industrial piping (e.g., plant structures, machinery).
Boilers and high-pressure piping (requires compatibility with heat-resistant steel standards (e.g., DIN 17175)).
Oil and chemical piping (e.g., API 5L X52 pipe, refer to DIN 2448).
EN Standards: EN 10220, EN 10216 (seamless steel pipes)
ISO Standard: ISO 4200 (dimensions)
ASTM Standards: ASTM A53, ASTM A106 (for carbon steel pipe)
JIS Standards: JIS G3454, JIS G3456
British Standard: BS 1387
DIN 2448: Applicable to seamless steel pipe.
DIN 2458: Applicable to welded steel pipe.
The main difference between the two lies in their manufacturing processes.
DIN 2440: Welded steel pipe, suitable for medium and low pressure systems such as water and gas.
DIN 2448: Seamless steel pipe, suitable for high pressure and high temperature environments such as oil and natural gas.
