What are the standards for wall thickness of gas seamless pipes?

Gas seamless pipe wall thickness standard requirements:

1. GB/T 9711.2-1999 "Technical delivery conditions for steel pipes for the oil and gas industry with additional supplementary indicators for welded steel pipes"

This standard refers to the requirements for seamless and welded pipes, including the following provisions:
A. The nominal wall thickness of gas transmission steel pipes should comply with the design requirements.
b. The outer and inner surfaces of steel pipes transporting gas should be clean. There should be no burrs, welds, pits, defects, etc.

2. SY/T 0413-2002 "Steel Pipes for Oil and Gas Industry"

This standard is a special pipeline standard for gas transmission, with the following provisions:

A. The outer diameter of straight seam resistance welded steel pipes for ordinary steel pipes should not be less than 8 inches (219.08 mm), and the wall thickness should not be less than 9.5 mm.
b. The outer diameter of straight seam submerged arc welded steel pipes for ordinary steel pipes should not be less than 8 inches (219.08 mm), and the wall thickness should not be less than 10.97 mm.
C. The standard wall thickness of seamless steel pipes is also specified and needs to be selected according to its diameter.

How to choose the wall thickness of gas seamless pipe?

1. Consider gas characteristics and transportation conditions.
The color, chemical composition, pressure and other characteristics of the gas will all affect the selection of steel pipe wall thickness, so the selection of steel pipes should be determined based on these characteristics.

2. Consider the transportation conditions of gas pipelines.
Gas transportation involves many aspects, such as transportation distance, ambient temperature, gas composition and concentration, etc. These are all factors that must be considered when selecting the wall thickness of steel pipes. Choose according to the actual situation, do not blindly pursue thickness.

Calculation method for gas seamless pipe wall thickness:

Based on the nominal diameter of the steel pipe and the required wall thickness, the specific size of the steel pipe can be calculated. The calculation is as follows:
A. The calculation formula for the outer diameter of straight seam submerged arc welded steel pipes for gas transportation is D=K*Φ, where D represents the outer diameter of the steel pipe, Ф represents the inner diameter of the pipe, and K is a constant with a value of 0.02466~0.02518.
b. The calculation formula for the outer diameter of straight seam resistance welded steel pipe is D=K*Φ+δ, where δ represents the wall thickness, K is a constant, and its value is 0.02468~0.0252.

Conclusion:

The above is a detailed introduction to the standard requirements for wall thickness of gas seamless pipes. We hope it will be helpful to industry practitioners and ordinary consumers in choosing appropriate steel pipes to ensure safe and reliable gas transmission.
