API 5L grade B carbon steel pipe is one of the pipeline steel pipe specifications developed by the American Petroleum Institute, and belongs to the Grade B steel in the API 5L standard. The steel grades in the API 5L standard include A, B, X42, X46, X52, X56, X60, X65, X70, X80, X90, X100, X120, etc. Steel pipes of different steel grades differ in manufacturing process, chemical composition and physical properties.

The chemical composition of API 5L grade B carbon steel pipe mainly includes carbon (C), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S) and other elements. Specifically, the carbon content is usually between 0.26% and 0.34%, the manganese content is between 0.60% and 1.06%, and the phosphorus and sulfur contents are low, not exceeding 0.035% and 0.040% respectively. API 5L grade B carbon steel pipe manufacturing process
The manufacturing process of API 5L grade B carbon steel pipe includes hot rolling and welding.
