Surface treatment processes for hydraulic tubes

Date:2024-04-08View:519Tags:hydraulic tubes,seamless steel pipe

There are many types of surface treatment processes for seamless hydraulic tubes, all of which are provided to improve the performance of seamless hydraulic tubes. This article mainly introduces three common seamless hydraulic tubes surface treatment processes: passivation, pickling, and oil removal and degreasing.

1. Seamless hydraulic tubes passivation

The surface on which this procedure is recommended must be iron-free. The presence of seamless hydraulic tubes particles on the surface of any iron, cast iron, mild steel, medium carbon steel or low alloy steel will promote pitting corrosion of the "free" iron and seamless hydraulic tubes on its surface. This is a very serious problem, so passivation is only used to treat seamless hydraulic tubes and stainless iron. The main purpose of passivation of seamless hydraulic tubes is to prevent surface oxidation and corrosion of seamless hydraulic tubes.

2. Pickling of seamless hydraulic tubes

The purpose of pickling treatment for seamless hydraulic tubes is to remove the oxide scale on the surface of seamless hydraulic tubes after high-temperature welding, heat treatment or heat processing. It can also eliminate red rust corrosion of steel or iron or steel particle contaminants. Please note that if the acid on the surface is not cleaned after pickling, the surface will soon begin to rust and corrode. Resulting in reduced corrosion resistance of the underlying steel surface layer.

The pickling process of seamless hydraulic tubes can be applied to the surface treatment of all 200, 300, and 400 series seamless hydraulic tubes. All pickling operations result in the removal of impurities from the metal surface and a slight dimensional change; therefore, the result is a certain degree of matting in visual brightness and perhaps also a significant reduction in size.

Heat treatment in a vacuum or a well controlled atmosphere, such as bright annealing, eliminates the need for pickling and generally results in a better smooth finish for seamless hydraulic tubes.

3. Seamless hydraulic tubes cleaning agent to remove oil and degrease

The pre-treatment of any process of seamless hydraulic tubes surface treatment must first remove grease, cutting fluid, drawing compounds and other lubricants, etc., and then the surface heat treatment or final passivation treatment of seamless hydraulic tubes components can be carried out. Seamless hydraulic fittings must also be degreased before further assembly is welded to prevent carbon pickup at high temperatures.

Under normal circumstances, seamless hydraulic tubes cleaning agent (No. CA-Q03) is used. It only needs to be soaked at room temperature for 1-8 minutes to remove any oil stains. It is simple to operate, has low labor intensity, and can be used repeatedly, effectively reducing production costs. As with other metal cleaning operations, cleaning rates can be increased by using brushing, spraying or stirring during other operations.

In addition to the above processes, there are other processes such as: electroplating, anodizing, sandblasting, painting, passivation, pickling, oil and degreasing, rust removal, etc.
