Types of coatings

1. Galvanized coating

Galvanizing is the process of burying electrical steel in molten zinc so that its surface is covered with a layer of zinc. Galvanizing can improve the corrosion resistance of electrical steel and enable it to be used and stored in a humid environment. The galvanized coating also has a beautiful appearance, and different protective effects can be achieved by selecting different zinc layer thicknesses.

2. Spray coating

Spraying is the process of spraying the coating on the surface of electrical steel through specific equipment. Spray coating can provide a delicate surface treatment effect, and has the characteristics of strong adaptability, environmental protection, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. There are many types of spray coatings, and different coating materials can be selected according to different working environments, such as fluorocarbon coatings, silicone coatings, polyurethane coatings, etc.

3. Organic coating

Organic coating is to attach a special organic matter to electrical steel to play the role of anti-corrosion, deodorization, anti-fouling, and flame retardant. Organic coating can not only enhance the hardness and surface gloss of electrical steel, but also does not contain heavy metals and does not pollute the environment.

Coating effect

1. Anti-corrosion effect

All three coatings mentioned above have the function of preventing corrosion on the surface of electrical steel. Through the protection of the coating, the corrosion resistance of electrical steel in humid or chemical environments can be greatly enhanced.

2. Aesthetic effect

The surface coating of steel is prone to rust under external factors, affecting the aesthetics, and various coatings can provide beautiful surface treatment. For example, the galvanized layer presents a metallic luster on the surface, and the spray coating can create different colors according to requirements.

3. Wear-resistant effect

The surface of electrical steel can achieve the improvement of strength and wear resistance through coating treatment, and can protect the surface of electrical steel from damage by chemical and external environmental factors.

Summary

This article mainly introduces the types and functions of coatings on the surface of electrical steel, and elaborates on the details. As an important building material, the surface coating of electrical steel can not only strengthen the material itself, but also play the role of beauty, corrosion resistance, anti-fouling, and flame retardancy.
