What is seamless pipe etching?

The situation in which seamless steel pipes are damaged due to organic chemistry or photoelectrocatalysis of substances is called corrosion. The main corrosion methods of seamless steel pipes are uniform corrosion (surface corrosion) and local corrosion. Local corrosion includes stress corrosion, pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion. According to surveys, only 10% of seamless steel pipe corrosion damage safety accidents are caused by uniform corrosion, and about 90% are caused by local corrosion.

Causes of Corrosion of Seamless Steel Pipes


1. Chemical corrosion
1) Surface environmental pollution: Oil, soot, alkali, salt, etc. attached to the surface of the product will undergo chemical changes with certain parts of the stainless steel plate, causing chemical corrosion.
2) Surface scratches: Various scratches will damage the oxide film, reduce the maintenance ability of the stainless steel plate, promote reactions with organic chemicals, and cause chemical corrosion.
3) Cleaning: After pickling, if the cleaning is not complete and liquid remains, the stainless steel plate components (chemical corrosion) will be eroded immediately.


2.Electrochemical reaction

1) Pollution of carbon steel: Carbon steel parts absorb carbon steel components and produce corrosive substances that are critical to the battery and cause electrochemical reactions.
2) Laser cutting: slime, splash, etc. Attaches to the etchant to form an initial charge cell, causing an electrochemical reaction.
3) Baking correction: Change the composition of the flame heating range to the metal material mechanism, causing electrochemical reactions by etching substances.
4) Electric welding: Physical defects and organic chemical defects in the electric welding area as well as etching media produce primary and intermediate rechargeable batteries, causing erosion of power engineering compounds.
5) Raw materials: Organic chemical defects (asymmetry, S, P residues, etc.) and surface physical defects (pores, sand, cracks, etc.) in the steel plate promote the electrochemical reaction of corrosive substances to produce primary and intermediate rechargeable batteries.
6) Passivation treatment: The effect of phosphating treatment is not good, causing unevenness or thinning, which is not conducive to electrochemical reactions.
7) Cleaning: chemical corrosion of phosphating residue components.

Methods to prevent corrosion of seamless steel pipes


The main anti-corrosion technologies are air oxidation film separation technology, anti-corrosion coating technology and desulfurization agent technology. Among various safety protection technologies for seamless pipe corrosion, desulfurization technology has become one of the most effective and commonly used methods due to its simple processing technology and wide range of applications. However, desulfurizers have significant technical limitations.

Among the most commonly used high-efficiency liquid substances, desulfurizers must have a certain solubility and must exceed a certain concentration value. Traditional desulfurizers have serious side effects and cause environmental pollution to the natural environment. At the same time, due to the small amount of desulfurizer used in seamless pipes, small external changes will cause great harm to the management system.
